i am twenty three years old and was just diagnosed with kidney disease in my right kidney. i noticed my hair been thinning out and my hormones seem out of wack. is this normal to experience this?
is it normal to have hair thinning when ... - Early CKD Support
is it normal to have hair thinning when you have on failed kidney? does hair start growing back eventually after surgery?
I think the hair thinning is more to do with the hormones rather than the kidney disease.
I would agree with Googie. I am at stage 5 but still have full head of thick hair - no signs of thinning.
I'm 18 and when my kidneys failed a year and a half ago (I've been on dialysis since) a lot of my hair fell out, due to malnutrition and the fact that people are a bit like flowers; when one part needs more energy and nutrients because it is ill, these are diverted from areas your ody sees as less important, such as hair and nails. The hormones could also be connected, I am not sure about CKD but know that dialysis can affect them so suppose it probably can too.
I know it's hard, particularly when you're so young, so if you ever want to talk to somebody nearer your age feel free to message me xx
