Welcome to the group and thank you for introducing yourself to the group.😀👍

Have you talked to your doctor about the insulin dose you have been taking? When was your last appointment? Which insulin are you using and how many times a day?

Hi thank you for the welcome. I'm taking apidra three times a day and lantus (12) in the evening. I also take cortisone for rheumatoid arthritis (which I know affects my blood sugar too). Have spoke to my doc and he doesn't understand why it should be different. Worrying me because if my reading is high and it's not right and then I inject too much insulin that's bad.

Has your doctor suggested carb. counting and explained how to do it? If you take insulin-- which you do, the dose has to be different depending on what you eat. Too much or too little insulin can cause high/low blood sugars.

I am measuring before every meal and doing the insulin according a chart I have. Doesn't explain why I got such a difference in readings by eating the same food.
