Hi

I’ve recently been diagnosed type 2 diabetic and take metformin with meals.

I am having feelings of light headed ness and dizzy ness when standing, and my blood pressure is raised. Is this normal?

Hi girl from wordsley

I take 2000mg of metformin a day. I also have high blood pressure but have had for years before metformin. I have in the past also had lightheadedness when standing but I thought (I have zero medical knowledge!) that that was caused by low blood pressure....

Metformin gives me no side effects at all.

Have you told your doctor? If not I think you should tbh.

Best of luck 👍

I have been on Metformin for 11 years and have had no issues with blood pressure or dizziness but some medications affect people differently. I do know that you should not mess with blood pressure issues and urge you to contact your doctor ASAP and let him know what is going on.
