Type 1 is a condition that manifests at a very early age.Here the person is unable to produce any insulin naturally because his pancreas is totally not functional.He has to depend on insulin injections for life with close medical supervision.Type 2 comes at a much later age,say,30 years.The person may be producing inadequate insulin or the body may be unable to use the available insulin.He has to consult a diabetes specialist and take medicines as prescribed.In addition,you will be advised regarding diet control,regular exercise,stress free life style and other aspects of diabetes management.Diabetes is not a life threatening disease but a metabolic disorder which can be controlled with some effort by the person concerned.
