Allopathic medicines, prescribed for a particular disease to cure, have side effects. However, ayurvedic medicines do not have side effects. Therefore, can be taken simultaneously. but one must understand that taking both type of medicines for lowering blood sugar level may cause sudden decrease in sugar levels which should be avoided.

I have tried taking allopathic and ayurvedic medicines simultaneously for diabetes - care needs to be taken that they are not taken at the same time as one dose. I have been told by an ayurvedic doctor that this mode of consuming medicine does not help. Better it is to take the allopathic dose and then give enough time (at least one hour possibly two hours) before taking the ayurvedic medicine. In my case I take the allopathic medicine along with breakfast and the ayurvedic medicine along with lunch. Works for me
