I was a video in Tamil from a South Indian doctor giving full explanation on many people making this mistake by eating a quick short meal on the way home or at work between 5 & 6 and how it increase the blood check number!!! (180 to 200) mg/dl.
Looking for a good discussion from experience.
For me my evening meal is between 6 & 7, nothing after that till next morning breakfast.
Take care.

Please note that I am not on any medication for type 2. I am controlling by life style change.
As I am retired I have a better control of my diet. I finish my evening meal before 7 PM, home cooked fresh food. Breakfast around 9 AM. Lunch around 12 or 1 PM depending up on my house keeping work. I keep a watch on my weight once a week. During the last three months I put on some weight due to attending a number of functions. From September my plan is to bring my weight down.
Boiled veg is good without any carbohydrate, portion size is important. Avoiding free and hidden sugar in food and drinks also very important. It can help if you leave at least 14 to 15 hours between evening meal and breakfast.
sandybrown ,It works just opposite for me. If I skip a small snack (healthy snack obviously ) in the evening and have dinner at around 9 PM, my FBS crosses to 115 mg/dL. If I have snack in the evening and dinner at around 9 PM, then FBS stays below 115 mg/dL.
