Emmer Wheat Vs Durum Wheat

All,

I'd like to share my recent observation on the impact of Emmer wheat and Durum wheat on my body.

I have been having my usual one Emmer wheat chapati with carrot subzi for dinner for some days and observed my PP in the range of 170 mg/dL( next day FBS between 117 to 120 mg/dL). I had stomach full of organic durum wheat pasta(with vegetables such as carrots, beans, peas) yesterday and found my PP to be 127 mg/dL(today's FBS was 104 mg/dL).

The above tests were quite surprising as both type of wheat I tried are of low glycemic index.

Can any one guess the reason for this observation?

Whatever you might eat, try to eat by 6pm. After 6 pm, drink only water and next day eat at 10am. Try to follow this for 45 days continuously and see if it helps.

What evidence do you have on this 45 day plan. I give 14 hours between dinner and breakfast. Between breakfast and lunch,3 hours and 5 hours between lunch and dinner.

the body gets adapted, it tskes either 21 or 45 days to make or break a habit. yes, dr.pal is sophistacted version who is repeating the ancient secrets of what our indian ancestors did. By eating early the fasting glucose stablises and slowly the post pardinal also gets stabilised. by doing this, permanent lifestyle change, the hba1c gets better. Ofcourse, by eating moderately.

I was brought up to eat a lot of food, leave a clean plate. Now days, my children and grand children only eat what they want, when they say they had enough they can leave the table. Thanks for your suggestion soni1 . I'm planning to skip dinner once in 2 weeks to start with and planning to slowly combine dinner and lunch later.

yes barani do try. our body wont understand our emotional and other problems, only we have to take care of it.

Try avoiding Carrots. The result could be different.

The nutrition facts for two small-to-medium raw carrots (100 grams) are:

Calories: 41.

Water: 88%

Protein: 0.9 grams.

Carbs: 9.6 grams.

Sugar: 4.7 grams.

Fiber: 2.8 grams.

Fat: 0.2 grams.

Would it be possible for you say why avoid carrots?

The water content could be slightly less. The rest you are directly loading glucose. The beets are used for making sugar. It is difficult to separate sugar from the carrots. Best is to check the result by controlling the number of carrots. I found it helpful.
