"If you have diabetes, you can enjoy jackfruit in moderation. Still, because it's low in fiber and high in carbs that will raise your blood sugar, it's important to choose an appropriate portion size, such as 1/2 cup (75 grams) — which would provide 18 grams of carbs."(1)

Talking about green raw jackfruit flour. It is sold on Amazon. Jackfruit365.com is the manufacturer's website. Recently there are tall claims that diabetes can be cured or atleast can be controlled with this powder and they are even awarded.

Is this from the dried fruit or dried seed?

Not seeds. It is unriped raw fruit (like vegetable, if we can't call unripened one a fruit), made into flour, may be after drying it.

Dear yvjanard

Has seen an article on dry jackfruit powder....

Articles like this keep appearing in the news media..

My views :

(1) Before taking any such action, you must ask what nutritional facts it offer? If it is unknown, just ignore.

(2) why dry powder which does not offer any nutritional benefits- when unripe jackfruit is available as vegetables through out the year. Even now you can get frozen ones packaged by "Safal" - a renowned company..I took today....

(3) Why only jack fruits as vegetables ? All varities of vegetables offer substantial benefit ..

Will give one example , yesterday evening , I had my dinner - starting with 7-8 kinds of vegetables (Brinjal, Ladies finger-okra, pumpkin, carrot, green peas, cabbage, mushroom , tomato - all cut in to cubes weighing 700 GM's total all put in a Glass bowl) microwaved without water for three and half minutes. Then I took it out , sprinkled some Salt and Pepper, cardamom powder... .I ate it...tastes great. .. then I had a bowl of mixed fruits salad around 300 GM's.....at last I had a cup of brown rice with Dal.... Had 15 mnts Treadmill...

My blood sugar after 2 hours was 115 post dinner.

Today morning , I had fasting blood sugar of 92... Then my morning breakfast today was exactly similar to my yesterday's dinner except that Dal rice was replaced with Oats topped with chia seeds and 4 Red grapes and half of banana...sprinkled with a little Ceylon cinnamon powder !

Did 20 mnts Treadmill post breakfast. MyPP was 115.

Early morning at 5 AM , I did yoga for 30 mnts and Pranayam for 30 mnts.

I ate all vegetables , fruits , whole grains which have known nutritional benefits with macro and micro nutrients !

Very good, lots of fresh veg and fruits.

I always feel unit of measurement is very important.

Grams, Kilos and so on...............

I take you had 700 grams and 300 grams to total food intake, what was the weight of rice and dhal in grams?.

Cooked Rice dal would be approx 300 GM's ..

I don't weigh whole plant food..

I eat to my heart's content. If required I take a second serving depending upon my appetite...

One thing good with whole plant food is that you can not overeat calories...

These contain a lot of fibers, water content which have no calories....and carbs / protein give you only 4 calories per gram...

And tonnes of Micronutrients, vitamins & minerals anti-oxidants ....

You feel energetic all through out the day...

Jackfruit can lower the blood sugars. If a person is type 1 and uses insulin, then it can cause extreme low blood sugar. Type 2 patients can use jackfruit, but let your doctor know that you’re thinking of changing the diet/medication so that you’re on the same page with the doctor and everyone knows why the blood sugars are lower than from your last appointment. Also, no one wants anyone getting sick or worse if you have any allergies to it. I hope this helps.😀👍🌈
