Hello pleased to meet you..

Please if can explain..

Thyroid produces iodine which controls metabolic rate..

This helps food oxygen are burnt to produce energy which we need.

Vital for growth, exercise.

Deficiency is rare can be controlled by diet..

Lack of iodene in the soil and water in where you live can account for this.

Eating foods in rich B vitamins..

Fish whole grains pulses seeds.

If Doctor given you meds these be probably Iodene ones..

If you over dose increased necessarily thyroid function can cause other health issues...

Discuss with Doctor first..

Avoid the following, these inhibit thyroid production ..

Peanuts, Cabbage raw, Turnips, Swede, also caffeine coffee tea energy drinks, cola causes other symptoms..

Smoking alcohol avoid ..

Please if you have anything can advise on..

Please ask me

karan79 ,

Please clarify if your TSH value too high.

Have you tried repeating your tests in a different lab to be absolutely sure.

You can manage using natural ways as my wife had a similar issue some years ago and this issue has almost disappeared now. She took this natural medicine for a longer duration (2-3 years). This natural medicine is used in Siddha as well. Its botanical name is Caesalpinia Bonducella. Its called physic nut or fever nut in English and called KaLarchikkai in Tamil.

Please check with a Siddha doctor on the usage of the above and more importantly keep your doctor informed so that he can review your dosage of medicines.
