Yes, peanut is good for you if you are not allergic to pea nut!!

I use pea nut butter on toast in place of real butter and jam.

The biggest advantage of peanuts is the low cost and yet is as effective as other nuts. I have been having boiled peanuts for my breakfast[most of the days] ever since i have been diagnosed as T2D 2 years ago.

Dear Barani & Sandy

Good that you are already using it in some form or other !

Pea nut boiled or dry roasted on low flame in a Cast iron kadhai is good..

Peanut butter is also good ...But be careful if you are buying from super market... Please remain alert for added preservatives, synthetic colours, stabilisers....

Also , identify your tolerant limits... Peanuts beyond certain amount may result in Rhinitis, stuffy nose... and sometimes acidity.....

Also be careful , at times few isolated peanuts become Rancid and tastes bad and could create stomach upset...

I have a weakness towards peanuts , I can go up to 250 gm to 300 GM's per day... Dry roasted. ...

Yes namaha . The taste of roasted peanuts is incomparable. It just lingers in your mouth and you can't just stop having more. Masala peanuts are a class apart. Nowadays, you get organic masala peanuts as well. I can't be separated from peanuts in this janma :)

Individuals with diabetes need foods that can help manage blood sugar and weight. Peanuts and peanut butter can be a powerful ally to reaching success. Peanuts and peanut butter have a low glycemic index, which mean they don't cause blood sugar to rise sharply.

How many grams of both pea nut and Bengal gram (chickpeas), (chana dal) do you eat on a daily basis. ?

100g of chana dal has 364 calories and 100g of pea nut 567 calories.

How are you controlling your type 2? any medication?

Legumes, pulses , nuts have some anti-nutrients like phytates, phytic acid, Lectin, Tannins, and alpha amylase inhibitors....

These actually inhibit absorption of nutrients from the food.

So, that is the reason why we are advised to cook food so that these anti- nutrients get destroyed and the food becomes easily digestible and tastes good too..

Having said that soaking also destroys these anti-nutrients to some extent ... and so carry on as long as you enjoy your food 👍...
