How long have you been on this diet?

What are your blood numbers?

What time do you have dinner and breakfast?

A balanced diet is very important for your body to function.

Dear Sandybrown

thanks for your kind reply.

From last one month I am on this diet.

-------------------------------------------------

my BS levels are below

Fasting - ( 100 - 130 range)

2 hrs after food( this salad) - 120-135 range

2 hrs after lunch( this salad) - 110 - 140 range

2 hrs after dinner( this salad) - 100- 135 range ( If i do 30 mints walk after 30 minutes of dinner - then bs is 80 - 120 range)

From last one month I am monitoring it daily and got the above figures.

Never crossed 140 ( one day it touched 140)

Before a month , I was on insulin ( 6-0-4) , glucophage 500 mg, tradgenta 5 mg. ( during this time my HIBAC was 6.4 to 7.3 range) and BS levels were much higher than present.

Now do not take any medicines from starting this salad menu.

kindly let me have your input please. thanking you in advance.

Do you have this much everytime or in whole day? Your salad looks good, except it has very less protein and fats and lacking in minerals. Please try to add Avocado, pomello , soaked peanuts, almonds and reduce red bell pepper, apple & pear by half. I think it would reduce your blood sugars further. There is no harm in having salads only for food to control blood sugar. Over long term you might have deficiencies of iron, calcium and other minerals. I would suggest to consult dietitian for complete vegan diet which would be more balanced.

Count your carbs in each food you take. Most fruit and vegetable carbs are okay, just lookout for less sugar content fruits. All the best. Thanks.

It is interesting that you are practically on Salad and managing BS very well. However I feel that you are missing on balanced diet. I will suggest you add some protein and good fat to your salad to make it more balanced. You can add Paneer, beans, soyabean, nuts like Almond, meat or fish and dressinng of virgin olive oil . This will make it complete meal.

Thank You.. Virgin olive oil I am already using in this salad.. I shall add other items as suggested..

Are U using any salad dressing?if so what? Apart from carbs, minerals, vitamins and fibre, you do need some amt. Of fats too, for normal functioning of ur nerves and brain.

What was yr weight before the salad as meals and what's it now? Don't you feel hunger pangs and have any other difficulty?

Vsthak profile image

Ur age, hieght and weight. Did Dr. approve of it.

rvsiv in reply toVsthak

Dear Vsthak.

I am 45 years old. height - 174 CM and weight was 71.2kg and BMI was 23.4 , waist - 95 cm just before starting the salad diet.

after around 1 and half month - height 174 CM, weight 65kg and BMI 21.4 waist 85 cm

there is change in weight and waist and accordingly BMI.

My doctor approved this as a good number to keep up in this range..

and I do not feel hunger and really feel better now a days.. thanking you.

and yesterday for a test purpose I had 1 wheat chappathi( medium) and little bit ( half of small cup) of rice with curry and little muttar paneer and small portion of beans fry. My BS shows after 2 hours of this food as 311. where as in case of salad ( that too a good quantity) this never crossed 140.

so as of now I am very well impressed with the salad diet but as some of our friends raised concern on long way ... I too have concern.. but any good suggestion appreciated.

thanking you

Did you try ditching grain, chapati or rice and eat only vegetables or keto diet? How are your lipid, renal profile and hba1c? Don’t loose too much weight, it’s in good range. Maybe you can experiment with emmer wheat chapati.

Hi rvsiv ,

Your experimentation with salad is impressive. Keep up your good work. Don't you not feel hungry after an hour or so after you take salad? How many times in a day you eat salad now?

Cheers
