Please go to MY HUB on this web page, select my community and you will find two communities relating to kidney problems. You can join the two communities and get help from members with similar issues.Wishing you good luck.
I am not sure if any T2 has CKD in this group. However with CKD and T2, Please get guided by your Nephrologist with regards to diet.
It is not only Pottassium , you may have to control Sodium as well and you may have problem with calcium metabolism. Your body may not be able to produce vitamin D, and so your doctor may prescribe vit D as well.
The kidney may not be able to clear the urea and Creatinine from blood. So your doctor might recommend diet which creates least nitrogen waste.
Please keep an watch on your HB if it comes down since your kidney may not be able to produce Erythropoietin. In such a situation your dr may recommend you to take EPO injection.
Also please consult your Nephrologist so that he would recommend a drug called Telmisartan - which is a BP lowering medicine , but it would preserve your kidney function and delay the progression. This is given even if you do not have High BP.
Thanks
