ACP new guidelines for hb1ac: type2diabetes... - Diabetes India
ACP new guidelines for hb1ac
Thank you.
The new r reading for a1c is debatable and many diabetolosts from India have expressed their concern. The argument is, India staple food is different and consists of more carbs.
India or any other country every kind of food has carb correct me if I am wrong
The IMA doesn’t want to accept the new levels due to strong medical lobbyists
The crux of the whole thing is we are all confused as to what is the correct level for being diabetic
God save us
You are right. Even best doctors are not absolutely sure and their casual approach raises even more suspicion in our minds. Most of the commentaries are from Western countries where lifestyle is completely different from commoners in asian countries especially, India. The vigilant citizens sould take up this cause and enlighten the common man with more literature in vernacular.
Diabetes specialists in India do not have any independent opinion and concern for the sufferings of their fellow beings . They just follow what was taught to them tens of years back and even now just go through the literature supplied to them by the pharma companies .
So what's the remedy? We are not experts and hence have to rely on Doc's opinion.
The remedy is self examination and monitoring . There is no uniform policy regarding the management of diabetes . What works in one case may not work in another case . The guide line is one should not go beyond the diatery levels applied to him .Calories count is not that difficult to follow , though all foods do not give the same calories .By trial and error one can arrive at the right amount of calories and the sugar spikes caused by each food item in quality and quantity . The golden rule is -------too much of any thing is bad . Do not depend on the doctors . More than 50% of them have diabetes.
