Folks, I did my PPBS test after dinner yesterday night (and just before i went to bed). It was 98 mg/dL. When i did my FBS test today morning, it was 112 mg/dL.
How can FBS be more than 98 mg/dL technically?
Experts, could some one throw light on the reason for the same?

First you should check your glucometer. It might give you error- which can be proved if the test is repeated in a Lab.
10% error is ok.
Also our body is a very wonderful machine and the chemical changes takes place continuously. Therefore, the spike might also be related to natural body fluctuations that occur during sleep. During the night ( your body is at rest) , newly released hormones might increase your body’s resistance to insulin, which ultimately impacts your body’s ability to absorb sugar into the cells, resulting in high sugar levels in the blood. Please Don't forget that your liver also keeps dumping sugar in to the blood.
It is very common among diabetics. It happens for all, but non-diabetics can control it. Your readings are not bad at all. Please read the article below:
deevige, i tested this once more yesterday night and today morning. Just before i went to bed, the reading was 99 mg/dL. Today's fasting reading in the morning is 101 mg/dL
FBS depends on when and what you have eaten during previous night, including medications and physical activity before dinner. If you have hit the equation right, you will be getting normal FBS. After dinner, body will depend on the glucose released by metabolizing the food you have consumed, for it"s basic metabolic rate.Once that process is over, you will still need glucose to meet the basic metabolic rate,so that your heart, lungs etc.continue to function normally. At this stage, the liver comes into play and releases glucose from it"s reserves. This goes on automatically until dawn and the FBS will read normally if your control measures are adequate. After that, you will have breakfast, start your daily routine ,take medicines etc. So, when you test PPBS after 90 minutes,it will show more or less than your FBS depending on the glycemic load put in during breakfast, medicines you have used and the level of your physical/mental activity. If your control measures are too good,it might be less than FBS. Try with different combinations after recording FBS and understand what is best for you.
