At 40, enjoying my homeymoon peroid.Im pre-diabetic, numbers are now 5.6 and fastings 90, which were slightly higher earler .So doctors tagged me under pre-diabetic. Now back to normacy and doubting if im i diabetic at all? Having light diet restrictions and excercise routines feeling of confidence as everything is back to normacy.
But i know its short lived and that too from a family history background.I know the beast will capture me soon or later, its just let me loose through a leadin chane. A flue or a viral infection or even a major illness can get my glucose numbets soaring back to peaks.
So whats the strategy? Is it like wating for the worst till my insulin runs out with age or an aggressive approach right now? From going through major journals, present caregivers are now insisting on an aggressive treatement plan even in the pre-diabetese stage. The moto is to save the existing beta cells and organs from further damage with insulin or medications. They say catch them young!. So im confused around the treatment methodologies. In india we consider insulin Interventiin as an end stage therapy where as now its considered starting point in western studies. Any insights please ???

It is really your decision how you want to live your life along with diabetes. Apply knowledge, experiences, medical advice on this condition into daily routine and practice. You choose what is best and move on.
When u HV an infection ,yr brain will instruct your cells to close door for sugar to enter cells,to avoid further multiplication of germs. So the available sugar will be floating in blood and show as high sugar during test. This is not actual position but only temporary due to infection. What you have to do is to reduce food consumption in such a way that you feel hungry. Also pl try to fast for 12 hours every day ie, if you take dinner at 8pm, take your breakfast next day morning after 12 hours is at 8am. This will remove toxins from your cells. Most people are suffering from TIIR ,Toxin Induced Insulin Resistance.Weekly fasting,Extended fasting etc can also do good for you.Don't get panik, control your diet and live happily.
I know a person who is diabetic since last 35 years and still there is no complication he follows very strict diet and excercise he rides 5 km cycle every days and had gone for several surgeries like lesik surgery for removing eye glasses had also done hair transplant and now he is off all types of medicines his a1c is always between 5.5 to 6
To lead a life without complications just change your diet to LCHF asap and you will do a favor to your family and yourself.
Cut down all sugars, sweets, juices and refined flour, colas, pizzas, burgers, samosa, batata wadas, rice, potatoes, corn flour. maida flour, cakes, pasteries and see the difference in 90 days, if you find no difference or you don't like it then switch back to your normal diet, the choice is yours. Thanks
Agree,LCHF is a way of life and its showing good results in general. Its a tough decision to take, i had been living a moderate life not a foody at all.But enjoys everything in moderation. But to think of a different diet and that too for a life time, is a bit hard to digest. Need determination and commitent not from oneself but from family side too.Its like living for a desease not for oneself. Anyway unless a cure is not in near future, i have to live with it.
