Hi All,

I checked my blood sugar today 3 hours after breakfast (had a plain milk 100ml, 15 minutes before checking) it was in range of 180 to 200, i checked it 5 times. Is that ok ?

Last A1C i did 1 month back it was 5.49 , before that it was 5.37

But for those with diabetes, milk's carbohydrate count can impact blood sugar. Milk contains lactose, a natural sugar or carbohydrate the body uses for energy. ... While cow's milk offers calcium and taste benefits to those with diabetes, its impact on blood sugar may make other choices better ones.

Speaking from a T1s point of view. I have never been the same every day bg wise. Stress & worry take it out of me & I go low. Sometimes it just does its own thing without reason but you have to keep going & do your best. Good luck.

Indian1990 at those numbers there is cellular and neurological damage going on. If I were you, I would adjust diet, lifestyle and medication to get my numbers to no more than 140 at anytime and 120 post two hours of meals as a first step. As that becomes consistent, FBS will dip into the mid 90s. But this is just me. Ensure you set a goal for your BS numbers and work with all the three parameters you have lifestyle, diet and medication.

At 2hr 45min after BF, BS would have been not much below PPBS. Then 100 ml milk would have kicked it up and in 15min no magic will bring BS down!!!

Stress and anger raise my blood sugar level at any time of the day...

There are emergency action plans embedded in us to convert stored fat into Glucose when one gets angry, frightened or stressed. This is to enable one to tide over the situation utilising the additional physical & mental energy. Any residual Glucose will be disposed by Insulin, appropriately in non-diabetics.

In diabetics the residual Glucose remains in blood. This must be the reason for elevated Glucose level in blood following anger & stress.
