My experience with acupuncture is mixed.I used to get good relief for my left hip joint pain but it was not permanent. So,I had an MRI,diagnosed as degenerated discs, and got relief from pain through physical (stretching) exercises.

What did your doctor say about both the A1c result and having acupuncture?

Please maintain your fasting blood sugar below 100 mg/dL and postprandial blood sugar less than 140 mg/dL.

Your HbA1c level is high.

Please investigate the reasons of your back pain using imaging technology before going to acupuncture / acupressure treatment.

Liraglutide injection (Victoza) is used with a diet and exercise program to control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and therefore cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood) when other medications did not control levels well enough. Liraglutide injection (Saxenda) is used along with a reduced calorie diet and exercise plan to help people who are obese or who are overweight and have weight-related medical problems to lose weight and to keep from gaining back that weight. Liraglutide injection (Saxenda) is not used to treat type 2 diabetes. Liraglutide injection is in a class of medications called incretin mimetics. It works by helping the pancreas to release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high. Insulin helps move sugar from the blood into other body tissues where it is used for energy. Liraglutide injection also slows the emptying of the stomach and may decrease appetite and cause weight loss.

Serious side effects of Liraglutide (generic name) Victoza (brand name) include pancreatitis and thyroid cancer.

Thanks Sir for your expert advise

Also Sir one more advise out of Blisto 2 or 4 MF and Amril which seems to be better to bring down the levels to respectable level

gangadharan_nair profile image
gangadharan_nair in reply to gur1302

Blisto 2 MF contains Glimepiride 2 mg + Metformin 500 mg.

Blisto 4 mg contains Glimepiride 4 mg + Metformin 1000 mg.

AMARYL is an oral sulfonylurea that contains the active ingredient glimepiride.

Glimepiride is used along with diet and exercise, and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin (a natural substance that is needed to break down sugar in the body) and helping the body use insulin efficiently. This medication will only help lower blood sugar in people whose bodies produce insulin naturally.

Metformin is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.

Glimepiride and metformin are widely prescribed anti-diabetic drugs for lowering high blood sugar in type 2 diabetic patients.

If you take Blisto 2/4 MF and Amaryl together, I think you are taking double the dosage. You should take the dosage of drugs according to your blood sugar level. If the dosage is reduced, it will cause hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) If the dosage is increased, it will cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).

You should not totally depend upon anti-diabetic medications for the control of high blood sugar. The same should also be controlled by diet and exercise.

Consult your doctor.
