Hi, I had a boil on my foot and it had converted into pus and swelling on foot. I took some antibiotics prescribed by doc and its better but yesterday I got my random sugar done and it was 300. I had a sprite and a glass of tang in the afternoon. Today I did my pp and it was 230 after 1 hour of having tea and 2 hours of having breakfast. Am I diabetic now.pls suggest as I m really scared now.

With the kind of numbers you are showing, any food item with added sugar is a BIG no for you.All soft drinks are loaded with sugar and hence you are well advised to keep away from them.Remember that diabetes is a most unforgiving metabolic disorder.Comply now or else you will pay a price.

Please don't panic first and eat well with smaller portions of meals and avoid sweets...pp 230 can be controlled through diet and excercise...Have 20-30 mins of morning daily walk.. then recheck in one month....Also for now please go to doctor for through checkup of current sugar levels like fasting, pp and h1ac etc... get well soon..

Follow LCHF as referred to by several experienced pundits in this forum.

You should get better.

I am a diabetic for more than 2 1/2 decades. Numbers were alarming before I got to know about this forum.

I followed the LCHF and now I am in full control (although I stray a little bit now and then) on my diet.

For example, I had to attend some festival parties during dussara recently, and I ate good sweets and went fasting the whole of next day. I enjoyed the sweets and remained like what Hindus call EKADESI the next day..... sugar was back up within my numbers...... hope this helps.

Intent is not to mislead you or tempt you to take things easily.

But what I am trying to stress is that "LCHF does not mean totally denying you of every thing you like"......its a process through which you control the quantum of BS in your blood veins.

Good Luck

Most important action is to bring Sugar under control. Take treatment for the foot boil on priority. Do not walk on bare foot. If it becomes septic, it will be a problem!

Adopt insulin therapy in consultation with your doctor till the boil is healed. Antibiotics have no effect when your sugar level is above normal (Normal BS level is less than 180 mg/dL.)
