Hello all, I have blood sugar under control and not taking any medicines.. I wanted to know if I could go for a dive.. if yes then are there any precautions?... I was diagnosed in Jan this year n have controlled my sugar levels by diet and exercise. No complications as of now..
What do you mean by "dive" please. Could you share your number when diagnosed? Sometimes, lab too gives wrong result I guess (My personal opinion only because my result within a short limit was strangely very different) I think, due to stress, it can spike temporarily to normal person as well.
Have you talked to your doctor about going diving? Swimming and other water sports/exercises tend to get some people to become lower once they are done-- while others get low during the exercise period. I personally stopped swimming since that was too much exercise for me and my blood sugars would drop right afterwards from leaving the pool area. This was a few years ago.
Hi, yes hba1c at that time came 16.4. Repeat in Apr was 8.4 its due now but only after this beach holiday!😀 got my kidney function test done n lab reports were all fine. I consulted a doctor then n was advised metformin 500 twice a day but decided to not take it (doctor said I should take it because I won't be able to follow the kind of diet I was taking those days!) Instead I decided to work on diet/exercise routine... it helped... before Jan test, I got my complete investigations done in dec 2015 n it was all fine. In jan my cholesterol was marginally raised (220)... however in Apr it was 148.. so... will get repeat tests after I get back.. but thanks for encouraging words..😊
