Hello I am OWALLIS- 73 years old , Have High Sugar levels since last 10 years

do my excercise s almost every morning for 40 minutes and take medicine everyday.

who can suggest me some tested experienced diets. to lower my 250 breakfast sugar levels.

Have you seen your doctor about the blood sugars being high? Do they want you to have a low carb high protein diet? Are you doing an exercise routine? Are you type 1, 2or LADA (1.5)? What do you have to eat for each meal and snack?

You have to plan your diet essentially based on your taste and preferences.Otherwise,they just do not work.Important point to be remembered is you have review what all you eat during the course of the day and identify those ingredients which cause a spike in blood sugar.If you find any item with sugar,better completely avoid them.Things like potato,beet,carrot and other root vegetables are rich i carbohydrates. Minimize using to the point of no use.We eat wheat and rice as staple,so we cannot avoid them.But you can reduce their consumption to the extent possible.You can eat vegetables and greens,,green salads suitably seasoned as much as you desire.If you are a meat eater,you can go for it.Mixed sprouts of pulses,mushrooms,and about an egg a day and some cheese can be a part of the menu.Another key point is moderation.Limit each meal but have some healthy snacks in between.Lastly,I suggest you brouse t e net for diets suitable for diabetics. You tube has so many cookery channels.You are sure to find many ideas that suit you.

Over time, people who have diabetes and high blood sugar can develop serious or life-threatening complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, nerve damage, and eye problems. Taking medication(s), making lifestyle changes (e.g., diet, exercise, quitting smoking), and regularly checking your blood sugar may help to manage your diabetes and improve your health. This therapy may also decrease your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, or other diabetes-related complications such as kidney failure, nerve damage (numb, cold legs or feet; decreased sexual ability in men and women), eye problems, including changes or loss of vision, or gum disease. Your doctor and other healthcare providers will talk to you about the best way to manage your diabetes.

Adopt insulin therapy in consultation with your doctor.

Check your blood sugar (FBS or PPBS) daily and reduce or avoid foods that cause high blood sugar. FBS should not exceed 100 mg/dL. PPBS should not exceed 140 mg/dL. HbA1c should be less than 6.5%.

Do not consume food after 8:00 pm. Eat only small quantity of food before 8:00 pm.

Follow diabetic diet.

Dear Owallis: I am sorry to know that you've troubles in controlling BSL. Please carry on with physical activities that suitable to your health and ability. I don't know how effective the anti hyperglycemia drugs you are currently taking. With any doubt or concerns, please have them reviewed by your doctor.

Being diabetic, you should already know how crucial is to eating the right foods that will not spike our blood sugar. Many people tend to suggest to eat a balanced diet or even say there is no such a thing "diabetic diet". We are told to eat whole grains and low fat products becuase they are healthy. But don't skip to take your medications to control BSL. I used to follow this instruction but without taking any drug, unfortunately my HbA1c keep rising.

Nowadays, since I've joined this forum, I have learned so many things from experienced people who have lived with diabetes. I no longer fear of good/natural fats. No more low fat in all forms. Low CARBS is essential for all diabetics. Please review what you currently eat and make some changes. The two links provided by concerned are excellent information.
