You are right. But must completely avoid all grains including Millets, Wheat also. They are all rich in Carbs which turn to sugar on digestion. We must seek opinion of our senior members. I am a new member here.

DIABETIC DIET

Do not eat at all:--

Sugar, jam, syrups, honey, sweets, chocolates, fruit juices, ice creams, cold drinks, glucose drinks, cakes and pastries, sweet biscuits, puddings

and protein powder with sugar.

Eat in moderation:--

Bread, chapatis, oat porridge, cornflakes (No sugar), Cheese, butter, Noodles or spaghetti, macroni, Thick soups, Milk & milk products, Chicken,

lean meat, fish.

Take unrestricted:--

* Salads (cucumber, tomato, onion, raddish, salad leaves).

* Vegetables (cabbage, baigan, lady fingers, french beans, methi, palak).

* Fruits (except banana, chockoo or mangoes).

* Sprouted beans and pulses.

* Marie biscuit (with less sugar).

* Clear soups, Lemon juice, Buttermilk

An ideal diet is low in carb, controlled and moderated fat and protein; vegetables and fruits a plenty; and red meat, dairy

and bakery the least. Most bakery items contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. (Lays, Curkure, Oreo, Coco cola and other aerated drinks). High Fructose Corn Syrup is a concentrated form of sugar, fructose derived from corn. It increases body fat, cholesterol and triglycerides and it also makes you hungry.

Sir please tell about soya paneer I.e tofu and soyabeen chunks and soyabeen granules. Can we eat them? Are they safe?

in reply toMann43

Soya has phytoesterogens which mimics estrogens.

These are big time endocrine disrupters.

Should avoid soya chunks

Only non gmo and organic Tofu in small qty if really cannot drop soya products

In the far east soya was always has as a fermented product rather than directly like chunks or extracts or isolates

Tofu , miso, natto or tempeh etc are all fermented forms of soya are the far east used to have soya in this form only

Its only in the US that they adopted soya in a big way & also made it GMO . In GMO crops a pesticide called Glyphosate is used which is a known carconogen

Better have Paneer in place of soya
