I Have Diabetes Type 2. For Last Three Years It Has Been Out Of Control. My Fasting Around 300. After Meals Around 350- 400. It Has Also Gone Up Around 570. My Doctor Wants To Start Insulin. I Am Scared Of Taking It.
Three Years Back I a Received A Personal Setback. Since Then My Health Has Been In Bad Shape. Also Have High BP.

Are you on any oral medications? If so obviously it is not enough. Are you a medical professional? My guess is you are not. So your best bet is to trust your health care provider and follow their advice. If your doctor wants to start you on insulin then go with it. I can understand you being scared but your numbers are pretty high. And just because you start taking insulin now doesnt mean you have to do it for the rest of your life.
First get the sugar under control, then in parallel work on restructuring your diet and get some exercise. Together it will improve your condition and allow to cut back on insulin/ medications. also remember stress is a big big contributor to the increase in blood sugar. Good luck
I Eat Hardly Carbs. I Slice Bread & 2 Egg Whites Of Boiled Egg As Breakfast. No Yolk. 1 Roti Only For Lunch. 1 Roti For Dinner. With Veggie & Sometimes Dal.
Last Year I Was In ER. They Gave Me 10 Units Of Insulin Twice To Bring Down My Blood Sugar. Every Time They Injected. I Started Shivering. They Covered Me With Blankets. This Happened After Both Injections At ER.
instead Insulin, you may try herbal-Daaru Haldi 3-4 pieces about 2 inches long and 1/2 inch. wide.Put them in a glass tumbler, fill it with water,cover it up and drink this concoction in the morning, while continuing with prescribed medicine. Check your sugarglucose twice a week. Also do not throw away daaru pieces, instead preserve them again in glass tumbler. Fill it with water again at night and drink water in the morning. You may use them for 4-5 days, replace them thereafter. Please keep watching your blood sugar level regularly. This is very important. As soon as your BS is within limits, you may reduce medicine, Do take advice of your Consultant Doctor.
Type -2 diabetes is often shoots up due to tension. Please do mediation be extremely cautious about your diet do mediation and start doing exercise and yoga. Read GITA if you follow Hindu religion. Do not allow any stress to enter in your work. Also keep yourself busy.
You need urgent medical attention. I feel that the first thing is to go for Insulin at the earliest under medical care and bring down the Sugar status to somewhere near normalcy. I have been taking Insulin shots for the last 3 years and stopped oral medicines. There is nothing to bother and getting used to it make it like any other daily habit like eating or sleeping and of course without any side effects to my knowledge.
Today I woke up at 6:45 am and I measured my BS at 7:00 am.It was 103.Then I went to a park near by house for morning walk for 40 minutes and I did yoga for 20 minutes.I came back to home at 8:10 am.I took a cup of Tulsi tea without milk and sugar/sweetener at 8:30 am.I again measured my BS at 9:00 am just before breakfast and I found it to be 105.At 9:15 am,I finished my breakfast and measured by BS after 2 hours i.e.11:15 am.The reading was 109.
Please go through above facts and clear my doubt.My doubt is -Why morning walk & yoga did not lowered my BS?
Inorder To Walk 45 mins - 50 mins in a day. Would it be fine to walk 10 mins in morning. 15 mins after lunch & 20 mins after dinner. Or would it be better to walk 45 mins in one shot daily.
Check your fasting blood sugar (FBS) daily and avoid / reduce foods that cause high blood sugar. Diabetic patients having blood sugar more than 300 mg/dL should have intensive medical care. Adopt low-carbohydrate diet. Sugar and oil should be minimized as far as possible in order to prevent heart attack, stroke and kidney failure. Do not consume food after 8:00 pm. Walk at least 8000 steps daily.

Weight reduction with diet
* Avoid single high concentrated meals.
* Small frequent meals.
* Food high in fibre content like vegetables, whole pulses, fruits, etc.
Ideal combination of diabetic diet should be:--
Carbohydrates: 55-60%.
Fat: 30%.
Proteins: 15-20% (0.8g /kg /body wt).
Fibres 40 g/day.
DIABETIC DIET
Do not eat at all:--
Sugar, jam, syrups, honey, sweets, chocolates, fruit juices, ice creams, cold drinks, glucose drinks, cakes and pastries, sweet biscuits, puddings and protein powder with sugar.
* Vegetables (cabbage, baigan, lady fingers, french beans, methi, palak).
* Fruits (except banana, chockoo or mangoes).
* Sprouted beans and pulses.
* Marie biscuit (with less sugar).
* Clear soups, Lemon juice, Buttermilk
An ideal diet is low in carb, controlled and moderated fat and protein; vegetables and fruits a plenty; and red meat, dairy and bakery the least. Most bakery items contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. (Lays, Curkure, Oreo, Coco cola and other aerated drinks). High Fructose Corn Syrup is a concentrated form of sugar, fructose derived from corn. It increases body fat, cholesterol and triglycerides and it also makes you hungry.
You should undergo periodical check-up to avoid diabetic complications.
A: HbA1c. HbA1c is a lab test that shows the average level of blood sugar (glucose) over the previous 3 months. It shows
how well you are controlling your diabetes.
B: Control your high Blood pressure, if any. Normal blood pressure- <120/80 mmHg.
C: Control your blood Cholesterol: Normal cholesterol < 200 mg/dL. LDL <100 mg/dL HDL > 40 mg/dL Triglyceride < 150 mg/dL.
D: Diabetic education. Dental check-up should be done in every 6 months.
E: Eye examination for glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and cataract.
F: Foot examination
G: Glucose monitoring. Fasting or postprandial blood sugar may be checked daily and avoid foods that elevates blood sugar.
H: Health maintenance immunization against influenza and pneumococcal pneumonia.
I: Indications for specialty care. Heart, kidney, thyroid and eye should be checked periodically by concerned specialists.
* Overall, the risk for death among people with diabetes is about twice that of people of similar age without diabetes.
* Adults with diabetes have heart disease death rates about 2 to 4 times higher than adults without diabetes.
* The risk for stroke is 2 to 4 times higher among people with diabetes.
