How frequent one should check Hb1AC
You should check HbA1c once in every 3 months. Red blood cells (RBC) have a lifespan of 120 days. Hemoglobin in the outer layer of RBC combines with glucose of the blood plasma to form glycated hemoglobin. The amount of glycated hemoglobin is measured in HbA1c test. It shows how well you are controlling your diabetes.

HbAic test measures 50-555% of blood glucose for the last 30 days and 45-50% for the former60 days, hence do not rely on upon only on this test.
HbA1c values may be falsely high or low, and tests must be done in a certified clinical laboratory with an assay that is certified and standardized to a reference assay. Point-of-care HbA1c measurements should not be used for diagnostic purposes, although they can be used for monitoring DM control.
