Hi, I am 36yrs and suffering from diabetes for the past 17yrs. I was talking medicines for it, but I dont want to continue any more. I eat loy of sweets and my sugar level is 280 PP and fasting is 310. Two years back my sugar level was morethan 550 and I got mild stroke due to that. Pls tell me the ways to bring it to normal.

Hi Poshwa ,

Welcome to the group. Please continue to post postings and comments, read and reply to other member's postings/comments, take the polls on the Polls section, read through the postings on the Pinned Post section, ask more questions and of course, meet the rest of the group members. Everyone is willing to help each other.

Are you type 1 or type 2? Do you take insulin (fast acting/slow acting)? What has your doctor told you at your last appointment? Over the phone? Has your doctor put you on an exercise routine? Are you counting your carbs for each meal and snack? Besides the sweets, what else do you eat during the day?

Please check out the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation's website for the free leaflets. All leaflets can be downloaded, read and/or listened to at anytime. Go to: drwf.org.uk/diabetes-leaflets

I hope this helps!

Nobody can help other than you to yourself. You know the problem and know the mistake also. Control on carbohydrate and go for intermittent fasting. Search on the internet and understand diabetic. Life is beautiful if healthy.

Hello Poshwa and welcome to this forum. You have been diabetic for almost half of your age and perhaps have used medications to lower BSL but your level is still quite high over the safe range. Being diabetic is involved a lot of self-management, self- control and self-education of what cause, what wrong and how to control. If you are Type 2, you can manage and lower your BSL with the right diet preferably low carb diet as high carbs will spike your blood sugar. Also you need to be active and exercise ideally 30 - 45 mins daily as this will lower sugar especially after meals. There are lot of good advice on diabetes on this forum which it is worth to look through some old posts and feel free to ask questions and share your concerns and experiences. I wish you good luck and have a better control of your diabetes both naturally and with some medications if needed.

Hi Poshwa,

I ma also diabetic and i am 34 years old, diabetics can be controlled with discipline, if un controlled you will definitely regret as the side effects are real bad, i request to wake up and take control.

1) Walk 30 minutes on waking up

2) Eat low carb foods, reduce or eliminate grains[rice, wheat,], instead take vegetables, meat, eggs, cheese, moderately butter

3) Brisk Walk 15-20 minutes after lunch and dinner , this after 20 minutes of eating

4)Take Apple cider vinegar 1 spoon empty stomach daily in morning

5) Be happy and stress less, there is onyl one life to live live it happy

I had complications even after maintaining control, i further tightened my control and now came out of complications

Everyone needs some carbs to keep the brain and the rest of the body functioning properly.

You are right but think of gluconeogenesis. Protein also cause insulin release. Insulin is required for normal thyroid functioning. Brain is better on ketones.

POshwa, you need to get on Metformin and Glimepiride. Your sugar levels are way to high, you could have a heart attack. Yes, I'm taking it and I'm tired of taking it but without this I couldn't control my sugar. Trying other things for this takes to long to start working in your system. Take care.

Please try IDM and i'm sure you will be able to control bs with a less dose and even won't need medication. A bit difficult if you are a pure vegetarian.

R u going to do suicide? Yr all symptoms shows u r no more serious about yr health. If u will not take care in food u will suffer from following complications.

(1) If continues of high BG yr kidney will be failed.

(2) Yr eyes may damaged and u may be blind.

(3) U may suffer from heart related disease.

First of all u shud take information about What is Diabetes? Seriousness of diabetes. U shud immediately do HbA1c test. From this test u can know how much sugar u carry since last 3 months. If yr HbA1c test result is more than 15% than u shud immediately start doc prescribed medicines. Bcoz above 15% u will suffer from above mentioned probs.

Immediately stop eating sweets. Stop high CARB food.

God has given u sign that u got mild stroke as u mentioned. Yr age is 36 so u r taking this ok but mark my word if u live lethargically surely u will in big truoble with 250+sugar.

That's what I think , but I'm not a medical professional. A doctor who is certified should talk to Poshwa.

Do regular exercise and fasting best way to get rid of diabetes .Medications dont do anything in diabetes as its dietary related disease not chronic disease.
