There is some evidence that guava can improve blood sugar control.

Several test-tube and animal studies found guava extract reduced blood sugar levels, improved long-term blood sugar control and reduced insulin resistance

This is good news for people with diabetes or those at risk.

A few studies involving humans have also shown impressive results.

One study of 19 people found that drinking guava leaf tea lowered blood sugar levels after a meal. The effects lasted for up to two hours.

Another study involving 20 people with type 2 diabetes found that drinking guava leaf tea reduced blood sugar levels after a meal by more than 10%.

Is this okay for Type 1 diabetics, or will it lower the blood sugar very low with insulin shots on top of the guava? Goji berries are not okay for type 1 diabetics for the same reason.

I think you have to try and check yr blood sugar level then...eating same fruit or spice may have different effect on different people so it is always trial and error method to be adopted as far as any food item or spices or fruits is concerned. Not sure about Type 1 since I am type 2

See, if you find particular spice or condiment like cinnamon powder is causing low blood sugar if taken regularly you can reduce no. of units of insulin taken accordingly
