Even excess protein is not good .The reason given for reduction in the carbohydrate consumption is the carbs get digested very easily and necessitate more food in take .It demands more insulin . So carb intake is restricted. So a solution has to be searched which does not put pressure on pancreas and does not demand more food .But logically speaking either more intake of proteins or fats is not the answer . It is said , by many , that high fat diet is the only solution and they all got positive response with that .The solution lies in the reduction of quantity of food . Since there is need for more physical exertion in the modern life, it should meet the need .Then again it is said that the whole problem lies with the immunity system where the dysfunction results n the damage of the healthy cells.Whether it is cancer , diabetes , vitiligo ,psoriasis or celiac disease are all the gifts of the dysfunctional immunity system which needs a correction . Excess of one particular item does not set right the defect caused by the other. High carb has to be curtailed but the deficiency has to be filled with fruits with low caloric value and vegetables , with organic ones , where ever possible .In any case over a period of time system gets used to the reduced in take of food , and the demand for more food gets lessened .

Egg or the Chick?

Being a non-medical but having been a Type 2 since 2000 it gives me the opportunity to look at the behavior of the Medical Profession with an open mind. I believe ‘ANY ONE FOLLOWING ANY SCHOOL OF THOUGHT’ is necessarily brain washed by the ‘school ‘AS OTHERWISE THAT PERSON WILL HAVE TO DISOWN THE QUALIFICATION CONFERRED BY THE ‘SCHOOL’.

By going through the flow of information by a range of comments in this Forum it gives lot of materials for thought.

‘INSULIN RESPONSE’ means what? My understanding is that when you consume carbs ‘INSULIN IS RELEASED BY THE BODY TO BURN ITS DERIVATIVES- SAY SUGAR’. When one becomes diabetic, the existence of ‘excess sugar’ is diagnosed as the cause of it and the ‘schools’ reasonably concluded that a mechanism should be devised to bring more insulin into the system. A ‘starch spread’ is also recommended I trust expecting the starch to naturalize the excess insulin.

I followed this professional advice very obediently since 2000 till early this year. The existence of sugar as a direct consequence of continuous intake of carbs, the ‘starch spread’ taken ‘to eliminate the cause’, however, stimulates secretion of more insulin ‘requiring additional carbs’ to naturalize the excess. This spiral has been going on for years, I trust!

My change over to LCHF enabled me to reduce the dosage by half though my reading is around 110 after 12hrs fasting. My new problem is that I am becoming fat which I presume is due to excess insulin in my system. Could there be any other reasons?

Shall I proceed to reduce the dosage further?
