The bottle arrives, and just as I’m about to rip it apart and pop its healing magic in to my mouth, I decided to take a quick peak at any other ingredients (ie. preservatives) this capsule might have. I find only one: bronopol.
Not to worry, this is Himalaya. Bronopol can’t be bad for you. Right?
Back to Google (the science behind everything I tell you will be posted below. I’m not making this stuff up): Bronopol was invented by the British company Boots. Bronopol has low mammalian toxicity (how is that good enough? shouldn’t it be ZERO mammalian toxicity?), hence the claim that it is a safe cosmetic preservative. But the issue here is that it is being administered orally. Research proves that orally it is suspected of causing gastrointestinal and liver toxicity and immunotoxicity and in some countries has only been approved for veterinary use. When tested on rats and dogs (how cruel) by a single dose, radioactivity was rapidly absorbed within the tissue of these animals, and was visible in said tissue even after their death. Upon multiple doses, rats showed signs of poisoning, gastrointestinal lesions and respiratory distress, among other things.

I don't know about what that GUY is doing....but frankly....i returned 'Meshshringi'/Gymnema capsules from Himalaya when I found it contains Boronopol.
Knowingly or unknowingly we are exposed to many toxic substances...our liver is processing all those toxic things..to keep us healthy...
As it is we diabetic are in very fragile state...I just avoided more risk ..
My thinking was simple...why take additional risk when fresh Gymnema is easily available in market??
what i say @anup yar...ye tablets and capsules are for westerners... we can get these pure herbs here....u know this gymnema is such common...we can get fresh juice everyday if we plan that way....
Really speaking even for VCO...we can opt from traditionally extracted COCONUT OIL ....even add shredded coconut in our meals...
why go for processed??/ natural is better...
and wherever we don't have option....yes...like case of milk thistle....it is not found in india...we can go for that....
In the lighter sense Anup sir, do you have any plan to start your kitchen garden with only natural fertilisers, natural pesticide or I mean organically grown vegetable .I wish it That is for this I have purchased 1.5 acres of land 12 km from Bhubaneswar and wish to do so after retirement .Thanks
