LOL....carb dose to brain????

I thought you are well acquainted with Charak samhita....ashtang ayurveda by vagbhat...

You were giving references of the same....

Hold your breath....

Entire ashtang is on its way here.....

in reply tocure

Whatever references I give in Ayurveda are handed down to me from my maternal grand mother . She came from a family of Ayurvedic physicians and she used to attend literally any complaint to the admiration and astonishment of all of us. Once I fell down from first floor at the age of 7 years and she gave the treatment all by herself with out any outside medical help .

Quotes are quotes....no matter who handed them to whom....scriptures are scriptures....

while arguing with @anup you said Ayurveda never advocated non vegetarian food....

Aryans were omnivores......Bhima..was non vegetarian... and you know what???? he was the last pandava who fell last on way to Swargarohana.

in reply tocure

YES ----I was wrong in my statement about non vegetarion food in Ayurveda.

here we are open for any types of food....all types of medicine systems .....

We should not close our mind....

everyone here is highly intellectual.... well read...all have valid points....

It will be helpful for us to concur this deadly diabetes only with mutual help and seeking guidance from everyone.

in reply tocure

yes . we are all pooling our experiences and information .But strange part is what could give relief either in medicine or diet in one case is not giving the same result in another case .So how can we have a common solution to this problem of common suffering.

in reply tocure

What about Varahamihira ?He was very famous for his astrology. He had a book on vrikshasastra to his credit .But does he have any book on Ayurveda .

cure profile image

Brhatsamhita of Varahamihira of the sixth century also contains a chapter titled Vrikshayurveda. It also contains chapters on allied subjects such as divining groundwater, productivity and non-productivity of land as indicated by natural vegetation, etc. However, beyond establishing the antiquity of the sastra, it cannot give any definite clues to any full-fledged, independent texts on Vrikshayurveda.

About ground water you may get some more information in one other book called 'sahadev bhadali'

thank you.... shrisamarth .... but guess what??? what intrigues me most is The Quality of Shashtika rice

13. Sastika rice is cooling; unctuous, not heavy, sweet, and curative of tri-discordance and stabilizing. The white variety is the best of Sastika rice and the dark-white comes next in order.

This is called in Marathi as 'साठीच्या साळी'...sathi means 60...and sali means rice....

It is said that rice harvested in 60 days..is पथ्यकारक ...beneficial for health....

any idea which is this variety of rice???

Even many books on Ayurveda recommends these shashtika rice for diabetes....

ShooterGeorge or Hidden may be having some information on the same.

80% OF THE TAKERS , SAY A THOUSAND PEOPLE.

I also hold the same view as far as diet is concerned .I don't deny the statistical data given by you . But it does not give the total picture to put it in to the category of scientific verification.

I repeatedly said about my inability in this respect .It requires huge funds , willingness of the people to go for homeopathy cure and time . Any reports given by any so called scientific researches is only a half hearted efforts . They start with an assumption that it is quackery .

Any science starts with opinions only in the first step .

I am not arguing against specific people . I am arguing against specific concept .What is science .To day they say something and to marrow they go back over that .

I am waiting for the time to take the course of action , since I am unable to take up the cause alone . Time means kalachakram not my time.

Ditto.

in reply to

Haphazard reports of half baked knowledge die natural death in course of time.

do that .

as if modern medicine does not have failures .

Thank you very much for your intelligent , knowledgeable , scientific , measured opinion .

Hey....here is something.....

The Art of Naming Traditional Rice Varieties and Landraces

by Ancient Tamils .....

Naming based on period or season

A special reference of varietal names indicating period or season has been

observed for 24 varieties of rice (see box on p. 10). Some of the names denote the

months in a Tamil year; e.g., Karthigai and Chitirai . A few of them indicate sessions in

a day; e.g., Vaikarai. A number of varieties have been named based on their duration

or days to maturity; e.g., Samba (late), Kar(early), Kuruvai (short), and Aruvadham/

Arubadham (60th day). The tendency to early/late flowering or early/late maturity has also been duly considered by ancient Tamils and the varieties have been named accordingly; e.g., Avasara (rapid). accordingly; e.g., Avasara (rapid). One of the Ayurvedic treatises Charaka Samhita (c. 700 BC) (Vidyalankar, 1994) mentions

the names of short- and long-duration varieties such as Shastika (60 days) and Vrihi (120 days).
