Medical Definition of medicine. 1: a substance or preparation used in treating disease. 2a: the science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of diseases

disease

noun

a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury.

So insulin is a medicine.

Technically you are right. But as insulin is normal product of the body and exactly same insulin is given externally, so it can only be replacement therapy.

External  insulin is not medicine but itis replacement      Agreed thisstatement.

What about suflunalurea tablets  like glimepride   Glipizide gliclazide dtc  these are oaly given  inthe  form of tablets  This is also works  as insulin ?

there are so much difference opinion  about  sulfunalurea tablets .

1   It amywhipp the pancreases and produce the insulin  so in longer use it may effectless  and harm to the body  ?

2 it should be given if the person has produced in insulin in his body and it helps to push the  existing insulin to move through thebody and helps to reduce the blood sugar spikes and keep  blood sugar normal way .

3  Insulin is given to   digest  the blood sugar in the body and keep BS level normal  But if excess of insulin  in the body what happens  ? It may also formed  Insulin resistance   and hence again blood sugar may nor   in normal way .

So   clarify what is the role of insulin  or  sulfunalurea tablets  in the diabetic   diseases.  Generally insulin injected  to the person when there is no insulin   produced in the body  or very low  insulin produced and it may not possible  todigest all the food consumed by the person and also sulfunalurea tablet may notwork
