What is blood pressure is a technical question asked to the blogger in reply to his post. This has been adequately responded here. However no one has answered the questions asked by the blogger of he post again by isolating the words “blood” and “pressure”. This twists the question earlier asked probably with some motivation intended or unintended.

What is blood? The question can be best answering by quoting the words of psychologists ”It is in his blood” meaning that this speaks something about the psychology, personality, tolerance/intolerance level towards others specially those with whom he has disagreement etc.,of the questioner himself.

What is pressure? Again it is something to do with the external force or stimulation to a reaction and speaks of the contemptuous behaviour of provocation or invitation to quarrel. by the questioner himself under pressure.

1."This has been adequately responded here!"

I have not got answer to my question adequately as I have asked about normal range of blood pressure according to age.

2."However no one has answered the questions asked by the blogger of he post again by isolating the words “blood” and “pressure”. This twists the question earlier asked probably with some motivation intended or unintended."

Answer to a question should not be another question especially from a learned member. One more member use to ask question in the place of giving answer and this way he helps learner. What a great approach?!

3."What is blood?What is pressure?"

It is especially asked to you with intention to have discussion on a basic level.

No one can judge about others personalty, psychology, behavior etc as par own liking and disliking.Nature has gifted some quality to every body.

Anyway, thanks for your reply in your own way!

Controversial new guidelines on the management of hypertension released by the 8th.joint National committee(JNC8)recommended higher blood pressure (BP)  threshold for treatment, prompting a mix response with some experts even calling their retraction. Essentially the new guidelines recommend treating any or above 60 years of age if they have BP of> 150/90 mg/hg. For younger individual and patients with diabetes or Kidney disease regardless of age, they suggest treatment should be initiated when the BP is 140/90mm.hg. or higher.

The major difference between the two guidelines and the previous JNC-7 guidelines focus on whether target BP treatment goals should be more conservative. The JNC-7 recommended a target of BP of 140/90 mm in adults and 130/80 mm.hg in those with chronic kidney disease or diabetes.

While the new guidelines raises the BP treatment,it does not mean clinicians should ease up an treatment in patients doing on medic ens, recommended by the JNC-7guidlines,said JNC-8 panel co chair Dr. Paul A Jones from the University of Iowa in Iowa city US. ":We are not saying that if some one(Systolic)  BP is 140 or138 mmhg, and on medicines and they are doing well, that you need to take them off form medicines and get the BP closure to 150,if you can consistently get peoples BP below 150mmhg,you really are improving the health outcomes":.

Thanks a lot for detailed reply!

The probability of heart problems has a direct correlation with BP. That is why the revised guideline is to maintain less than 120/80 for all age groups.

My BP readings: 115/60, 120/60, 130/70, 140/70. sometimes 150/75. When taken at different times. I am diabetic and have kidney problems. Bp med seems ok

Thanks for your reply! What are symptoms of kidney problem?

My experience:

creatinine 1.3 is the top of the normal range.

But no symptoms till 2.5

Up to 1.8 almost kidney functions 50% OK. Which also means body thinks kidney is 100% (mimicry). Also see one kidney is 50% and one kidney function = 100% as well. Both affected then 50% is mimicry.

At creatinine 2.5 mg/dL u feel no hungry no tatse.

At 2.7 u feel vomiting sensation. Some strange fluid in the mouth and throat fell like opposing intake of food.

Presently my creatinine is brought down to 2.2 and symptoms disappeared. trying to bring it down to 2.0 or 1.8 to be on the safer side.

They normally say creatinine cannot be brought down.

But some cases it can be. Food control. Better Blood circulation to kidney, repair of slightly damaged nephrons can improve (there are dead nephrons and damaged nephrons. Killed nephrons we cant do anything. But damaged nephrons can be repaired. Here lies our hope)

Allopathy docs see total inactive nephrons and say cannot bring down creatinine.

Hope u get some useful info from my reply. Thanks

I am 70 yrs of age and diabetic but well within limits of 120/150 with medicines. (tablets)  However my BP, systolic varies from 120 to 160, whereas my diastolic varies between 50 to 70.  Sometimes it drops to as low as 45 but rarely goes above 70. My pulse is always between 60 to 63.  My Doctor tried several combinations of drugs to reduce gap between systolic & diastolic but with no success. Now I am on 1 tab of Telmisartan in the morning.  Is my condition abnormal?

For people above 50 years it can be 140/90 mm/hg but not higher, lower is better. Bood pressure is When your heart beats, it pumps blood round your body to give it the energy and oxygen it needs. As the blood moves, it pushes against the sides of the blood vessels. The strength of this pushing is your blood pressure. If your blood pressure is too high, it puts extra strain on your arteries (and your heart) and this may lead to heart attacks and strokes.
