Having bp 142/70 am 75 years.is it low bp any suggestions
New INC &HYPERTENSION GUIDELINES- Controversial new guidelines on the management of hypertension released by the 8th.Joint National Committee (JNC8) recommended higher blood pressure (BP) three sold for treatment of,prompting a mix response with some experts even calling their retraction.Eventually the new guidelines recommend treating any or above 60 years of age if they have BP of >150/90m/hg. For younger individuals and patients with diabetes or with Kidney disease regardless of age, they suggest treatment should be imitated when BP is 140/90 mm.hg.or higher.THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE between the the two joint lines and the previous JNC-7 guidelines focus on whether target BP treatment goals should be more conservatives. The JNC 7 recommend a target of BP of 140/90 mmhg.in adults and 130/80 mmhg in adults and 130/80 mmhg.in in those with chronic Kidney disease or diabetes. While the new guidelines raises the BP treatment,it does not mean clinicians should ease up an treatment in patients
doing on medic ens recommended by the JNC7 guidelines said JNC8 panel co chair Dr. Paul A jame from the university of of Lowa in Lowacity USA..We are not saying that if one systolic BP is 140 or 138mmhg,on medic ens and they are doing well then you need to take off them from mendicancy to get the BP closure to 150. ,if you can consistently get peoples BP level below150mmhg. you are really are improving the health outcomes.and so on.

Good to know I am lucky
You are doing well ,mine is 110/57
Have stage 4kidney failure & heart problems /thyroid /osteoporosis feeling very low, I'm . 76 years old
What you are doing about it
70 is very good but cutting out on salt may bring the systolic figure down (under 138 is preferable)
