There are two labs I get my blood sugar tested from. Both show fasting sugar max 110. For diabetic 114 fasting sugar is not bad. But with little more exercise in morning (walking 30 minutes followed by running for 5 minutes) will bring your blood sugar to between 95 to 100.

Good if you burn sugar but better your fasting sugar is 90 as anup says. Because high fbs shows that the sugar levels were high during the night. This is not desired. As long as sugar remains high it causes osmotic damage to the body.

There is nothing like a normal lab reports. A report normal for one person may not be normal for others. For example s. Cholesterol value of 225 may be considered normal for nondiabetics but not for diabetics.

that's fine. Keep it at, below or around 126 adn A1C of below 7%.  For diabetics, keeping it too low has been shown to result in death as one study shockingly revealed.  Normal BG level used to be around 140 (ADA standards) but as one astute observer has pointed out, it was later artificially reduced (ADA standards again) to the fabled 100 level thru' clever manipulation by biz-minded people wanting to push their diabetic drugs.  For them, It is good $$$ biz keeping people sick and dependent on pharma drugs!

Important note: Bringing blood glucose down by means of multiple drugs has NOT been shown to decrease complications much. Two huge studies, the ACCORD and ADVANCE trials showed this.

Generally, doctors assume that tight control of sugars will lead to a decrease in a whole host of complications from diabetes, including fewer leg ulcers, less neuropathy and fewer kidney issues.

One doctor confessed that he used to make the logical assumption that such control not only led to fewer complications, but also led to increased longevity.  He said "Imagine our surprise (and horror) when a study that purported to actually test this theory showed a possibly opposite result!"

This study was halted early in the patients assigned to very tight sugar control as they had “excess mortality” meaning that more than the expected number of deaths occurred in this group compared to the other two groups where sugar control was not as rigorous.  These deaths all seemed to occur due to an increase in heart attacks (myocardial infarction in the patients with tight control.

Diabetics can't keep tight control. BS measusred 3 or 4 times a day may be showing "normal !" values but it's very difficult to achieve a tight control  round the clock with the present practice of 60:20:20+ drugs. And whenever there is high sugar in the blood it causes osmotic damage.

List down what foods you normally eat.  Test out each food you eat to find out how YOUR body reacts to it.  Since you already do a few BG tests per day, you can easily test a few foods per day and get an invaluable insight into how your body body reacts to the type of food you take.

In that way you will learn to learn to avoid or remove the foods that sabotage your BG control and management. Remember that each person is different.  What affects you may not necessarily affect other people in the same way, and vice versa.

In time, you will develop a clear overall understanding of your own metabolism. You can refine this further by firtst making a gut-feeling prediction about which foods will spike your BG the most and which ones will spike the least and which will have middling effects.  You can then counter-check the predicted values with those obtained with the glucometer.  So listen to your own body before you try to seek ....
