LCFH: Can someone PLEASE explain to me Wht... - Diabetes India
LCFH
You have only 3 macro nutrients that you can eat. They are fat, protein, and carbohydrate.
LCHF means you eat a low carbohydrate, high fat, moderate protein diet.
Fat should be 50 to 70% of your diet. Protein 20-25%, & carbohydrates should be between 5 to 10% of your daily consumption.
Doing this diet over a 6 month period eliminated my dependency on insulin injections 6 times per day to control my blood sugar. This style of eating is called a ketogenic diet and there are a large number of endurance athletes today that swear by this diet.
Goggle ketogenic diet, or LCHF.
Protein is moderated and in excess can be hard on the kidneys. So eat 6 to 10 oz of fatty protein in now more than two meals. Protein also has some carbohydrates too, and you need to remember all carbohydrate cause you to secrete insulin. As a type 2 diabetic your goal is to reduce both blood sugars and insulin secretion.
High insulin increases appetite, it stores fats, it causes arterial inflammation. It in excess within your blood with high blood sugar because your cells are insulin resistant and they are refusing to open their doors to let sugar enter your bodies cells.
So you job I'd to reduce insulin and sugar levels simultaneously. This is highly achieved in a LCHF or ketogenic diet. Stay on this diet long enough and you may lose liver and pancreas fat to put your diabetes into full remission.
Fasting though works best. It quickly forces you liver and pancreas to burn their organ fats... You can jog or exercise these organ to get them to burn their fats. You must starve them into giving their fats up for energy.
I'm in day 22 of a hard fast, where I have not eaten a single meal. I'm going to go for 30 days. Afterward I'm doing an intermittent fast where I give up 2 meals a day to achieve 104 fasting days each year...
Get past 5 to 7 days and your deeply in ketosis. This suppresses the appetite similar to a ketogenic LCHF diet.
Magman,
you are amazing, and an inspiration. well explained.
I used to fast long time back when following vrat (ritual fasting), but unable to do so now, due to low sugar symptoms, headache, and constant hunger. I would love to go on fast once in awhile, hope to work on it. All of you on this forum are an inspiration in one way or the other. thank you all, and keep it going.
