Fenugreek swells in presence of water and prevents absorption there is lot of scientific literature which states this type of effect. SOme time back on this very platform I came to know about processed fenugreek marketed as Fenufiber which claims to reduce absorption. Though I dont have any personal experience and dont have data if there is some variation in sugar levels if fenugreek is consumed 15 min before meals.

Many thanks I understood that soaked in water is more beneficial than use as powder

Most diabetic people are taking medication which is recommended to be taken with a meal, such as Metformin; however, Fenugreek may bring the glucose level too low, hypoglycemia, if taken before a meal; hence, it is advisable to be taken 2 hrs before or after any medication is taken. By the way, I just started to take Fenugreek and is to early for me to advise if it works or not. There are also some other herbs which have an effect on glucose levels namely: Burdock Root, Milk Thistle, and Nettle (Stinging Nettle) although the user has to be careful with this product as most of them contain lead which is not desecrated by the body and stays in the brain; thus, be careful which product you buy.

Talking about diabetes and health, one good thing to do is to flush the Liver and Pancreas to restore their function; probably not to restore them to healthy levels but it may work and is easy to do. Here are some links for it:

Methi does not increase blood sugar neither it helps reducing blood sugar. But you get a lot of natural fibre. It is not necessary that it should be powdered

Those who can afford one-touch gluco meter to check FBS & PPBS daily can try Fenu greek successfully. On a 4-meals basis daily, swallow 75 fenu greek particles for every meal.300 particles daily will come around 1 gm.On a monthly basis you can change dosage from 1 gm,2 gm,3 gm,4 gm,5 gm etc.The particles can be swallowed during meals.Avoid mastication of hard fenu greek seeds; can be swallowed along with food.No soaking or powdering needed.Hence no bad flavor.
