A new drug that shuts down glucose production in liver has potential to help millions of diabetics. The drug MSDC 0602 is being developed and it is in trial stage

Researchers have shown that a inhibitory protein called mitochondrial pyruvate carrier 2 ( mph 2 )in the liver blocked the pyruvate transfer and cut glucose production.
