FRUCTOSE is a monosaccharide found in fruits - digestion of which is taken care of by liver, while glucose we get from other foods- is processed by each cell in the body. But the problem with table sugar is it is a combination of glucose and fructose- it is a disaccharide digestion of which is difficult by liver and so more insulin is demanded and so diabetes creeps in.400 years ago per person we used to consume only around 2kg of table sugar per year and diabetes were very rare. Today our consumption of table sugar in various forms like bakery items is around 200 kg in U.S. NO WONDER this generation is suffering from Diabetes! The simple Maths is if you increase the effeciency of Liver by 20% , the capacity of Gall Bladder will increase by 80% there by you will get relief from Diabetes. Ayurveda asks us to to keep VATA,PITA AND KAPA in a balanced proportion. If we are taking more carbohydrate bring down it by half(reduce consumption of Rice ,Wheat etc) and substitute by vegitable fats like Avacado,coconut and other nuts like Almond, Walnut etc,Virgin CoConut oil,Broccoli and regular consumption of Green leafy vegitables and Regular Exercise or long walk in the early morning is a must.In short we are far away from nature and we have to go back to nature.
