While reading the above link dietdoctor.com I landed to another link diabetes-warrior.net/2011/0... which do not recommend peanuts as it belongs to legume family and not a nut. Whether we should continue to take peanuts in LCHF diets.
I came to know about bullet proof coffee from another link. Can we use Nescafe coffee instead of coffee seeds along with VCO and unsalted home made butter for making bullet proof coffee. High octane brain oil has been preferred in place of VCO by him.

Peanuts GI is only 14, it does not spike bs.Helps
in bs control and decreases risk and
complication of DM 2.
The best thing to do is test after eating and see whether there is any spike in your blood sugar. Peanuts are legumes not nuts.
Bernstein, Perlmutter, etc do not recommend peanuts. Personally, I stick to walnuts and almonds.
Comparative carb content of all three is similar. Independent testing may weigh on walnuts as its fat content is high.
Hi type2
Just curious, how is your DP ? Have you tested your Hba1c ? I think you had scheduled the test in June.
I have finally solved my DP problem. I now record readings of 95/105 and falling. Down from 120/150.
I have been taking metformin 500 SR twice a day, after breakfast and after dinner.
HbA1c came in at 5.7. I suspect the next test in September will show a reading of 5.4 or less.
All the best, Shrisamarth.
Very Good.
cheers.
Once again this morning (11th July, 6.15am) my PBS reading showed 95.
For more than a year I had fasting BG levels of approx 135 (average). I am quite certain I will now stay below 100 comfortably, maybe even attain levels of 85/90.
And, as my DP gets licked, my HbA1c is sure to fall. I am aiming for levels of 5 or below. In any case, my PBBS readings were almost always non-diabetic. Recent readings have shown 96 after 60 mins of "first bite" and 85 after 120 min of "first bite".
Cheers.
very nice so good days come with LCHF.
I really do not know how you reached that conclusion in my case.
It was the swallowing of Metformin 500 SR TWICE a day ( from once a day earlier) that , in my humble opinion, did the trick.
Of course, I have been on a relatively LCHF diet for almost a year now. It did not seem to help with regard to the "dawn phenomenon" that plagued me.
The switch to Metformin 500 SR TWICE a day, after my consultation with a diabetologist, changed the picture quickly.
I will continue with Metformin 500 SR happily for some time to come.
Best regards.
Type2, if I am not intruding in your personal life, may I know your age?
I will complete 58 years in September this year. Born in 1956.
What is meant by DP? (A silly question perhaps?)☺️
Doctor advised Metoformin 500 mg may be taken before lunch and before dinner. Metoformin combination with glimipride and piogilitazone also taken before lunch in morning and before dinner at lease tablets may taken 10-15 minutes before food.

Patliputra,
Google "The Trouble with Peanuts in Managing Diabetes" by David Mendosa. Worth a read.
I am quite content eating almonds and walnuts.
Cheers.
Type2,
I read mendosa's article.Thanks.
I am firm believer of the fact that we Indians are genetically different from Western people.Research findings on white people may not be true for us Indians, born and brought up in india.
All gogle articles are not accurate it is their own opinons.
Please refer nutritional values of Almond and pea nut u can confirm that pea nut ismore good than Almond and also too cheap comparing to Almond That is old prover in kannada (BADAVARA BADAMI KALLEKAYI) Poormans Almond is peanut. Thanks
Nice Article
i started to love peanuts and channa with skin and even eating 100g at one go also not spike BS much in my case .
Except for peanuts most of the legumes are high in carb content. So VLC eaters are definitely going to avoid it.
As per Mendonsa peanuts are also high carb food.
I think Dr. Bernstein has stopped eating fruits for more than 40 years.
Yes he is right. Mostly these almonds are sold for Rs. 650- 700/kg. After grinding them there is very less oiliness in the powder compared to peanuts. It doesn't happen is case of good quality almonds.
I checked with my wife as regards the prices she pays for almonds and walnuts. She pays approx Rs 800/1000/kg for almonds, approx Rs. 1600/2000/kg for walnuts and Rs. 1000/1400 for pistachios.
The actual price depends on the quality and time one is buying. For instance, prices tend to be higher around Diwali, etc.
Currently, she is paying Rs. 900 for almonds Rs. 1800 for walnuts and Rs.1200 for pistachios.
Brazilnuts and Pinenuts are a tad more expensive at Rs.2000/2400/kg.
The cost ofthese arevery high and please informthe lowest cost items Generally Doctors recommonded 1500 calories of food contain 55% carb 20 % protien and 25% Fat Generally used food oil and ghee are the fat content and curd also content Fat can u please how much of quantity may takenfor the person 1500 calories per day.
Why u gofor high constly Almond Cheap and best PEANUT ( KADALEKAYI BEEJA ) is very good and it is more nutritions valu than Almond
Further can u please clarifiy which fats is good for Blood sugar . for vegitarians
Okay sir, how much in a day PEANUTS can be taken. I have posted my diet today. Please guide and correct if i am doing some thing wrong
I have always suggested to use peanuts. Saturated fat is the best fat. Then monounsaturated and last polyunsaturated.
Omega6 in PUFA has to be restricted and omega3 has to be consumed in proportion with omega6. Best source for SAFA is VCO, butter, ghee, cheese, paneer etc. Peanut has all the three in good quantity.
Lectin is present in all the cereals, pulses, legumes, dairy products and some vegetables. It is a toxic substance and allergen.Issue is very complicated and research is still in infancy stage. Many diseases including DM and rheumatoid arthritis are associated with it.
My perception is different.Genetic modification is of recent origin, and evolution in the system takes much much longer time.
In USA peanut was and is used as peanut oil and peanut butter. So eating raw peanut was not in vogue,so the body did not evolve to accept it naturally, hence all the problems.
But we Indians are using mostly raw peanut since time immemorial ,so our body has evolved to accept it naturally.
There are other aspects like soil and climate.
Most of All natural ingreedients is good and observed body immediately but caremay taken washed and cleaned is necessary whenever possible.
