I travel led from Mumbai to London in June 2013.I needed to carry injection for my kidney functioning. I informed the air lines authority for the same . They gave me the permission to carry injections on the basis of a permission letter from my doctor stating that why I need that injection and that injection is to be stored in refrigerator. Air lines authorities permitted me to carry these injections in an ice box and also provided me ice in my ice box on board. But keep in mind that air lines have got a restriction on how much ice you can carry on board in your ice box.

We need to maintain temperature less than 25 degrees Centigrade in the container where we carry insulin. The medicine is to be suitably wrapped with ice.Once inside the flight temperature is under controlFor this medical shops or agency dealers can help.

Hi, you can keep Human Mixtard 30/70 or 50/50 in the box provided with novo pen type one extra refill and three needles in its place.

No need for refrigeration for this box. For extra usage, you can keep it separately and keep it in fridge the moment you reach your place. There is no harm to keep extra refills w/o fridge for short times about 5 to 8 hrs.

But for out side travelling you have to keep your Dr's prescriptions with you for proof.

It is not a problem .

True ,always you can carry insulin in ice bag, as i travel a lot i do the same thing, only thing if it is small quantity , no permissions are required.

Insulin can be kept at 86 degrees Fahrenheit for two weeks. This temperature is achievable in airconditioned atmosphere and hence for a weeklong tour abroad keeping the insulin in refrigerator is not necessary.

Most insulins once opened can be KEPT AT ROOM TEMPS AND STAY POTENT AND EFFECTIVE FOR UP TO ONE MONTH.( Please read the information that comes with your insulin) Keep in mind they are talking about 68 to 78 dergrees feronheight.

you can also put the insulin bottle in waterproof small medication bottle or ziplock bag then put the bag with ice in another ziplock bag. They will give you ice when you ask on the plane, in case they dont want the responsibility for your insulin being in their fridge. I have used this method many times in the past as I dont want to go to the bother of explanations and asking for favors or special treatment. Goodluck!
