But one thing I know about regular apples is that it instantly shoots up sugar in the blood. I tried it with just half an apple and saw it shot up from normal blood sugar to 216. Quite alarming isn't it !!!

that is right .........but its a different kind of fruit. Its Kaith in hindi.

Its not Kaith. Kaith is a fruit. But Elephant Apple is a vegetable. Its sour in taste. You can made sweet and sour chutni out of it. Its greasy , so people apply it with Shikakai and ritha to apply in hair for smoothning.

Also we can made achar (pickle) and other sour curry out of it.

Praise the Lord, Sir i was diagnosed diabetes in October 2013, i had gall bladder stones. I had kidney abscess on both. I was very serious, after controlling blood sugar, I was operated, but continued with Insulin and tablets till today. my blood sugar is between 185 to 385 sometimes 425. never comes down. It was in control, but once again it is same as above. could you give me a diet chart?

IS Bilvafruit is Elephant apple, as I have a Bilva Tree in my house, which gives me lot of fruits, during summer. It does have a Hard skull( cover) and is very bitter in taste. I take its pulp normally as a Juice, mixed with water.
