and a steelwire was inserted through the needle twisted and the wire was kept for 10 days. It is said that this treatment could improve the insulin secretion and a permanent cure for type 2 diabetes. Is it true?

Scientifically speaking, yes! It is called Auricular Therapy. It depends on the acupuncturist who performs this procedure.

Acupuncture and acupressure are ancient Chinese systems of medicine.You can try them if you want to but the results may be uncertain.They are harmless and can be used as supplements to other systems.
