Fasting Sugar is 135, while 2 hour after lunch is 160

I have diagnose sugar, my Hb1C is 6.6, while morning fasting sugar is 125 to 140 range, while 2 hour after lunch it iis 160 to 170 range. doctor is prescribing normal medicine. any solution or advice?

Your sugar levels are high enough to say that you are diabetic. You have not stated whether you are taking diabetic medicines. In this forum, it help to get advise only if you can be more specific. Since you are in the border case, the Doctor might have told you to take precaution in Food, do exercise etc., your age, medication details are important.

I am taking the medicine as follows

Glycomat - 1 gm. twice a day

ecosprin 75 - once in a day

Astor 5 - once in a day.

my age is 54.

doing yoga and pranayam 5 times in a week, recently started 30 minutes walk.

food habit is

6.00 am green tea without milk and sugar

9.00 am fruits with badam

11.00 am breakfast light

3.00 pm lunch

8.00 pm dinner light.

that is all , avoiding sugar 100 percent, alcohol twice in a month 120 ml.

but i do eat Paan( betel) of Keemam - 4 to 5 nos.

3. In side dish what we can eat. Do you mean in place of Chapati we eat long wheat mesh ?

Is your diet equally effective for Type2 Diabetecs?My Daughter is 16 and has been diagnosed as Type 1 just 2 mmonths ago.Her initial sugar values were very high but she is now on 40 units insulin everday.Will you diet help?Please reply ASAP as I am really very anxious..

after getting the encouragement from you that diabetic can be cured, I have started concentrating on my diet. First step was to leave the fruits and sugar completely,

second step was to add 40 to 50 minutes of morning or evening walk, and

added the long wheat meal also, really it is very difficult to eat two times but some how maintain my will power to carry on.

The result so far is my empty stomach ( Fasting 12 hour )sugar test has come down from the range of 125- 140, to now 109.

I do not know the end result but I am feeling bit more energetic and light weight during the day.
