Agnisar Kiriya tone up abdomonal muscles ;activate pancreas and stimulate digestion ............Agni basically is the Sanskrit word for fire and sara stands for wash, so the yoga practice of agnisara kriya basically implies the washing of the fire chakra or the Manipur chakra which is located at the navel region of the individual

Some of the key benefits of the Agnisar kriya is that it is helpful in combating diabetes naturally, stimulates the immune system of the individual and also improves the process of digestion in the individual.

Technique

To perform the Agnisar kriya you should inhale deeply from your nose while standing with your legs kept slightly apart. Thereafter you should exhale only from your mouth with your head kept slightly bent forward and the knees should be slightly bent too.

During the Agnisar Kriya, the back should be kept straight at all times and the abdominal muscles should be allowed to relax.

Thereafter try to draw the navel upwards and inwards to the spine. Many people tend to pull in the navel from below the sternum or allow their chest to sink which should be avoided as this is the incorrect way of practicing the Agnisar Kriya.

Instead, you should hold your breath for just a moment before you snap the abdomen backwards and forwards 10 -12 times while holding your breath. This will typically complete one whole round of the Agnisar Kriya. Those people who have a weak Agni will tend to tire after the first round itself , although for best results it is advisable to complete at least 3 rounds of the Agnisar Kriya.

To gain maximum benefits from the Agnisar Kriya , it should be practiced on a daily basis with a gradual increase in the number of repetitions . With regular practice, you would be able to feel the heat in your body and find your abdominal area strengthening.

Those who are pregnant, have just undergone abdominal surgery, have a pre-existing pancreas or intestinal ailment or are menstruating should not practice the Agnisar Kriya.

The practice of the Agnisar Kriya over a period of time would result in the individual feeling more stimulated and relaxed. The agnisar Kriya should always be practiced on an empty stomach.
