I second the response provided above by "Concerned". Eating less carbohydrates (absolutely no simple carbohydrates, as much as possible), more protein (assuming kidneys are fine) and fat, definitely provides for more acceptable levels of Blood Sugar. Additionally, ensuring proper exercise helps a great deal.

New research is ongoing regarding using a hormone by name Betatrophin...this actually aids in the regeneration of Beta Cells, the reduction of Beta Cell numbers and/or their efficiency, is what is responsible for Diabetes to begin with... So, once Betatrophin is (hopefully) available for humans (perhaps, in a couple of years, after successful trials), there should be a great shift in the way Diabetics are treated.

If all of your insulin producing cells are dead, thenrecovery is impossible.

With age, the cells start dieing.

However, all insulin producing cells never die.

Some of the insulin producing cells stop producing insulin. However these can be revived by doing excercise. This means that you will have to continue doing exercise after you feel tired.

Green veges is a good alternative. Chemistry students know that structural formula of Green chlorofil is same as blood carpusuls.
