Have you talked to your endocrinologist about the feeling sick issues? Is this a side effect of the medication?

It is a side effect. Im on so many other meds as i have rheumatoid arthritis too. I shall give my doctor a ring in the morning. Than you for replying

You're welcome! Sorry for the delay, but I had my Nephew on my lap and couldn't check until now.

Please leave a message for your doctor. Say what's going on and let us know what happens. Feel better!

Hello. I would also look into natural ways to lower your blood sugar, and one way is taking apple cider vinegar. I know it has great effects in many things ... read this article on how to take it for diabetes:

"The optimum vinegar dose hasn’t been established. Most reports have people taking 1–2 tablespoons before each meal containing carbohydrate, and at bedtime. It might be best to take vinegar with the first bite of the meal, to prevent the reported side effects of nausea and heartburn. But these should be rare at such low doses, anyway. You can also take vinegar tablets, which are cheap and widely available."

Taking it before or after a meal has only helped my own digestion. I have not tested for diabetes personally, but what others do:

Paul V: Half a glass of water with a tablespoon of cider vinegar

Kelly: Sliced cucumbers and cold vinegar in a bowl

Vicki: Two tablespoons of vinegar with one tablespoon of honey

Betty and Deb: Apple cider vinegar, extra-virgin olive oil (and optionally, mustard) as a salad dressing

Brecklundin: Apple cider vinegar in iced tea with lemon or lime and stevia

Juli: A glug of apple cider vinegar, a spoonful of honey, and the rest of the glass full of water

David: One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in 1 cup of water, with a few drops of stevia

Also, for your RA, Vitamin C high dose may help:

in high doses...

..."it supports collagen formation and enhances extracellular matrix protein synthesis,” they wrote.

What’s more, researchers found RA patients tended to be vitamin C deficient and required supplementation in high doses in order to maintain acceptable plasma vitamin C levels. In addition to low vitamin C levels in the blood, the researchers said studies have shown below-normal ascorbic acid concentrations have also been observed in the synovial fluid of RA patients. -

As you get older you do need more vitamins. C, D and Omega 3s are pretty basic to begin with. Hope this helps.

Thank you Rusti for your reply. When i was told 12 months ago that my sugar was high i decided to try to lose weight which i did but my levels kept going up. I do eat healthy i dont have a sweet tooth so i decided to cut back on my carbs but still no change. My dad had diabetes so i think its been handed down to me. I have heard alot about apple cider vinegar & its health benefits.

If you have only recently been diagnosed, this rapid increase in dosing in such a short time is bound to have an effect on your body. If I was you I'd ring the local hospital and ask for a consultation with a diabetic specialist. Doctors are only human beings you know and can make a mistake like any of us. In the meantime stick to fresh natural food as much as possible. The goodness in that will help your body fight the problem.
