Anyone taking Azilect with Wellbutrin XL? I think my husband is in need of an antidepressant and I have read that Wellbutrin is one of the ones that may increase dopamine. What other ones are you taking and how are they working for you? Thank you. This community is a blessing and so are all of you.

Azilect and Wellbutrin
Before I started Azilect, I was told by my neuro to guit the welbutrin xl completely before I could start Azilect. The risk of an interaction was strong. Personally I have found there seems to be an antianxiety effect with Azilect. Sounded like it could be a severe reaction. I was on welbutrin xl fot a couple years.
Welbutrin was an anti-depressant that I was considering when Azilect was first recommended to me and the Pharmacist told me of the contra-indication with Paroxetine (Seroxat) which I
i was taking. I sought advice and the consensus was the risk was quite small and I have been taking Azilect and Paroxetine for 4 years now and thus far everything is AOK - but we are all different so you have to make a judgement call
i have been taking Welbutrin for aout 5 years. it take's the edge off. when i don't take it for some reason I definitely feel out of sorts. i found the Acilect did nothing -- and I believe that these drugs should not be taken together, but I could be wrong about that.
I've been taking Paxil for 10 years and Azilect for 10 months with no problems I'm aware of.
Today the pharmacist wants me to talk with my doctor before she refills the Azilect. She and the insurance company are worried about Seratonin Syndrome. When I started reading about it, I'm pretty concerned myself. Anyone else use Paxil and Azilect?
See my post on the blog page #3.....it's about Azilect and antidepressants. The info is from the Parkinson's research site:
