Uk-based Red Light Devices

Both Vielight and Mitolight are HQ'd outside Blighty causing potential shipping/customs issues, in theory at least. Is anyone from the UK having any success with IFR devices - helmets, nasal feeds and/or panels, please - and do you know of any stockists in the UK? Thanks a lot. (Are all Symbyx users unhappy with it - a faff to use? - or did I just hit on unrepresentative posts?)

Red Light Man is based in the UK. I have heard that the customer service is very good, but I do not have personal experience with the company or their products. redlightman.com

Have you read all the articles on the Redlightonthebrain site? If found them really helpful, and swept away a lot of myths about red light and expensive devices on the market. After reading I made one which cost £70 and my husband uses it every day.We live in Scotland,so had the same qualms as you have about customs charges etc.I am a 77 year old technical idiot, so anyone can do it!

I checked out “ The Red Light Man” website after I messaged you,and sent him an email asking about the great variation in prices for red light devices. He said that the bigger the company the more overheads, advertising packaging sales staff etc,but the actual price of the lights isn’t overly expensive.I bought 5 mtrs of 660 lights for £70 from an American supplier when I made my husbands helmet.RLM is selling a helmet with 4 different light bands for £360,which I thought was a good price, and the specifications are higher than the separate lights I bought from America. He seems to know his stuff, you might find his blog worth looking at.

I use both the wellred and Symbyx units. I think I have finally found a way to use the Symbyx wand without going mad. I put two heavy elastics around the unit so it turns the lights on when I turn the unit on. You don't have to press your skin to keep in on. Then I set a 20 minute alarm on my phone and move the unit around, not paying attention to the exact two minute intervals. I still get the 10 spots recommended, but some may be slightly longer or shorter than the others. The battery compartment was definitely not made with PD fingers in mind... that is a bit of a struggle but since switching to eneloop rechargeable batteries it has helped
