Lithium Orate , Taurine

I have been taking about 2 grams of taurine a day for a few months now. Taurine is supposed to be good for longevity. There are more and more reliable references to this on the Internet. Now I would like to add "Lithium Orotate" 5 mg daily. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Here is an excerpt from Dr. Michael Nehl's homepage:

Parkinson's is a neuroinflammatory disease, which is why an additional therapy with low-dose lithium could make sense. In a corresponding review, the two authors come to the conclusion:

"The use of low-dose lithium in combination with other potential or existing therapeutic agents may be a promising approach to reduce symptoms and disease progression in neurodegenerative diseases.

I have a high school degree!

I take 30 mg of Lithium Orotate every morning. I do this based on the study from Buffalo where the medium (45 mg) and high dose (lithium carbonate titrated to achieve serum level of 0.4–0.5 mmol/L) were effective (at changing lab reports) but low does (15 mg) was not effective.

I had been on 20 mg, too close to the low dose, so I moved to 30 mg. Here is my post on this with links to the study: Medium-Dose Lithium May Hit Parkinson Disease Targets... healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

Lithium Orotate for Depression and more? healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

So I was watching this video on lithium orotate (still looking to get past my depression) and was amazed at the way he says lithium works in the brain. Lithium clears glutamate?

Anybody up for lowering inflammation? Boosting neuroplasticity?

And then he starts going through the other supplements work well with LO: Inositol, NAC, Taurine, Vitamin C, Meditation, etc...

lithium can be toxic. Be very careful and get monitored

I read a book on lithium after reading about its effect in PD. But in the first few pages I read that overdosing can cause serious, irreversible brain damage. So I quit reading.

I hope that means you are not dosing lithium and ignoring toxicity

No, I didn't start lithium after reading about the brain problems.

I will take between 1 and 5mg. That is a very low dosage. Doctors usually prescribe much higher dosages.

Incidentally, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in December 2020 and I don't take any medication!

In principle, I'm not being treated by a neurologist because I'm not taking any traditional medication.

My book will be published in English in a month or two, and it will contain everything. here is the back of the book:

"If I had had the information from this book at the beginning of my diagnosis, I would have been spared six months of depression and a negative course of the disease!"

Tom Parkinson

He was diagnosed with Parkinson's in December 2020, and in January 2021 a DaTSCAN confirmed this diagnosis.

Although all doctors advised him to take medication, he decided against it and successfully embarked on a search for and application of alternative healing methods.

These approaches led to his symptoms improving in the fall of 2021 and have remained stable to this day.

On April 29, 2024, he scored just 20 out of a maximum 199 points on the MDS-UPDRS scale.

Around three years earlier, on July 21, 2021, his score was 18 points. This shows that he has halted the progression of Parkinson's disease with his methods for the time being.

His results clearly exceed the expectations of conventional medicine.

In his book, he shares his experiences with the alternative healing methods he has used himself in an understandable way.

Tom Parkinson believes that it is a mistake to focus exclusively on one particular alternative healing method. Instead, the human body should be considered holistically in order to achieve effective healing. Every person is unique and therefore individual vulnerabilities must be taken into account.

He hopes that his book will provide valuable insights for those affected and interested.
