anyone swapped from Stelevo to Cocareldopa ? My husband is trying it to see if it will help with the hallucinations , (under the guidance of the PD nurse) he’s only swapped the 8pm 75mg Stelevo but its had a massive impact on his non motor symptoms, its like his dementia has really progressed over the last few days. Anyone had any experience of this ?

Cocareldopa is Stalevo minus the entacapone. Entacapone helps to make levodopa more effective. Since the switch has not been helpful I would suggest switching back.
It was a 75mg Stelevo that was swapped for 100mg of co careldopa and we were expecting a trade off in his motor symptoms but not in his dementia and anxiety ☹️
hubby had the same thing happen when he went from madopar IR to ER. It was great for 3 days then he became agitated , suicidal, and didn’t know who he was in the middle of the night and kept trying to escape to the point I had to deadlock him in and wear a key around my neck as he was determined to get run over by a truck on the nearby road. Of course the PD nurse and specialist said it was natural progression and dementia.
I was desperate so put him back on his old pills.
Turns out it was too much levodopa. He went back to the IR madopar in the tablets form and almost instantly came right.
