night time pain

Hi there everyone. Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, but I my sleep is being ruined by severe lower back pain./stiffness in the night. My neurologist has prescribed me slow-release madopar overnight. This is proving completely ineffective. The only reliable way I can get a decent Sleep is to take codeine ibuprofen painkillers. I do this only a couple of times a week because I don’t want to develop a dependency on them. However, they do work. Grateful for any advice, help et cetera. Many thanks, Paul

Maybe you could try a dose of IR Madopar around 2am? That's the only reliable way my partner is able to get any sleep, the slow release didn't really work for her. The pain may be a product largely of being in an off state.

Thanks. I have Madopar MR which is not effective. What’s Madopar IR?

It's the regular instant release tablet, the type that can be broken into quarters to give control over dosage.
