I've spent 3 months on one brand of foil packed rasagiline with modest improvements however a week ago I got a different brand that was just a bottle of pills. Since then I've noticed my symptoms getting worse. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced different results for what should be the same meds but a different brand?

Anyone have differerent effectiveness for same meds but manufacturer?
I was given Azilect, it worked for me. Three months later they changed it to a generic rasagiline. This brand gave me severe headaches and nausea. It took two months of fighting with the Doctor to change back to Azilect. The reason they changed it was because Azilect is far more expensive the the generic brand. What’s more important saving money or someone’s health?
Yes. It was with C/L. The manufacturer changed and I had bad side effects with the new one. My doctor and my pharmacist said that it can happen even though a high percentage of ingredients should be the same. What you’ll need to do is get your doctor to write on the script “the name of the mfg” ONLY. 🥊
Similar issues with c/l. 3 months supply. Pharmacist said it should be the same because the prescription is the same. My movement specialist said she has had the same complaint from other patients. Apparently they can write a script for a specific manufacturer if you can figure out which one helps more.
right at the start hubby had sinemet tablets that got changed to Kinson c/l which we didn’t realise weren’t the same until we noticed he was having a bad reaction to it.
Personally I can’t see how the colouring in yellow or blue pills can be good for people who struggle to detox. Now he uses white madopar tablets.
Same happened to me. I was issued with generic replacement for rasagiline and noticed a difference. I spoke to pharmacist and they now issue only brand specific pills for me.
same experience with Viagra
I am sitting in my kitchen at 11.00 in morning wondering what has happened to me. So tired I can hardly put one foot in front of the other. What am I to say to parki nurse on Thursday. I am feeling nauseous in the evenings too. Then I read your post. I have been taking Azilect since diagnosed in 2019 and felt good. I was given a new brand in a pot two weeks ago and have been going downhill ever since. It was like a eureka moment. I now am able to show some evidence of others in same position to the nurse and hope they will l
I have found that generic versions of a drug is not the same as brand. I experienced this with Sinimet ( brand of c/ l) . See what mjfox says about about generics. When Merck pulled brand Sinimet off the market I struggled with several c/l generics made by different manufacturers
yes. Not with rasagiline. I use generic CD/LD (controlled release) from Express Scripts. The latest batch is a different color and has delayed absorption and uneven effectiveness. I am about ready to call Express Scripts about this when I have time for the inevitable HOLD/TRANSFER/HOLD without successful resolution.....
and I thought it was me ! I noticed that a generic Viagra made by Lloyds Pharmaceutical in India is far more effective than the Pfizer original. The only problem is that it can't be ordered. You just have to take whatever the NHS is ordering at any given time
This is not uncommon. It is widely reported that a change of brands or to unbranded prescriptions can affect different people differently, Not necessarily just PD patienst
